It's so peaceful when it's snowing...

Especially when you know it won't be here for long. Mike had to head up to Cortez this morning to take care of some business related errands so I was back to feeding breakfast on my own. It isn't terribly cold out, just below freezing, and with no wind the falling snow is sweetly quiet and peaceful.

So here is a calendar update...I've been doing a lot of research to try to find an affordable calendar printer that also had good reviews from customers. Not so easy and I finally decided to print and fabricate them myself. My old HP printer has been on its last legs for a while so after a little investigating, we bought a really nice Canon PIXMA iP4500 photo printer and now I'm looking at binding systems. As much as I love you guys, I have a hard time imagining getting more than a hundred calendar orders which is the breakover quantity where it would be more cost effective to have them printed by someone else.
Now how about telling me what the perfect calendar elements for you would be? I know Janet likes to know the moon phases...what else rocks your calendar boat?

What I like in a calendar is squares to write in (not a tiny space, in other words) and a reminder what the day is, meaning along with moon phases, which day is daylight savings, Easter, Presidents' Day, etc. My current calendar does not have that. Drives me nuts!
Hi Alison! I was planning to make them 8.5x11, spiral bound so they could be hung or fold over easily for writing. Bottom page calendar with large squares, top photo. I'll put in all the holidays, major and minor, but hadn't thought about daylight savings time so that's a good suggestion. Hey here's a thought...since I am going to handprint and make each one, I could add custom dates! ie. if you send me a list of birthdays or other personal dates, I could add them in on *your* calendar!
I like squares where the numbers aren't so big they take up half the space and you can't write in them.
Carmon, custom dates are a good idea but it might wind up being a nightmare for you.
How about a gallery of photos so we can choose which ones we want in the calendar? (yes, I want Ellie pics!)
Thanks Janet - small numbers, more writing space! I know it probably doesn't make sense, but it would be much easier to plug in custom dates than it would be to let people choose photos.
