Spending a day in timeout...

Several weeks ago I purchased a number of used photo editing software programs from a photographer who was upgrading. I was finally able to install them over the last few days and not long after I registered them, I received an Adobe update notice. I told it to go ahead and was a bit surprised after it started to learn I was downloading 290MB. I didn't worry about it too much though as our satellite internet has been on good behavior lately and it was going along pretty fast.

Mike was busy and I went over to the shop to work on waxes for our next casting run while it downloaded. When I left the house, the download was showing it would be done in a bit over a half hour so I was surprised, no, shocked is the better word, when I returned and saw the download showing 1,823 hours remaining! It turns out I was a very bad girl and had exceeded our bandwidth use, violating our FAP (Fair Access Policy) and we had been put in 'time out' for 24 hours. What that means is they don't shut you down, which would be illegal, but they slow you down so much that just getting emails is agonizingly slow. Finally, at noon today, we were free again!

So that was a very, very long explanation as to why I didn't post yesterday's 'Adventures in Ellie Photo Fantasy Land'! I have been learning the new software and playing with some rather amazing filters. Janet, I chose Ellie as my subject just for you!

Our beloved Ellie as you have seen her so many times.

Ellie as an old fashioned color print.

Ellie having a very intense dream.

Ellie up in neon lights!

Earthquake Ellie!

Psychodelic Ellie...

And finally, Ellie deep in meditation.

By the way, check out the new banner I made over at Wild Hearts.

I really like the old fashioned color print. For a dog that's seriously lounging Ellie looks like a ball of energy with some of the filters.

Love the pics! But wait, are you switching blogsites or blogs? What is the Wild Hearts blog? Are you going to keep both?(This is me panicking that I won't find you, by the way.)

Hi Alison - no, Star's Rest is staying right where it is! Several years ago I started a wordpress blog called 'Paddock Paradise & Mustang Mountain' (http://wildhooves.wordpress.com/)
which focused on natural horsecare and had several contributors. The problem was I hated how it managed photos so stopped updating it. 'Wild Hearts, Willing Spirits' (http://wildhooves.blogspot.com/)
is where I will continue my portion of the original blog. It will focus on our horses, their care, hooves, relationship and so on and is where I'll be working out a lot of the book stuff.

What fun! They're all great, but I'm with Austin: the old-fashioned color print is my favorite.

Fun! I like how Ellie meditates, perhaps we should adopt that pose...
