Still Life With Pizza & High Drama in Mustang Land

We love homemade pizza. We used to make pizza at least once a week until first, we no longer had an oven, and then somewhere in there my bread machine broke and we have yet to replace it. This pizza didn't start out as completely homemade; but it was pretty close and one of the prettiest pizzas I've ever pulled out of an oven when it was done. So in the interest of making anyone who sees this hungry, I just had to take a photo. And yes, it tasted as good as it looked! I miss that bread machine though. It made the best chewy, whole wheat pizza crust dough I've ever had.

This is Storrie Lake, right outside of Las Vegas, New Mexico. We're told that the beautiful snow pack up on the mountains is at 150% of normal in some areas. What that means is this spring there will be an abundance of runoff to fill the lake and keep fire danger low.

Storrie Lake was covered with a sheet of ice until the high winds came and broke it up and then drove it onto this side of the shore.

We have had nothing but unbelievably high winds for days. They finally started to settle down a bit yesterday, and it was a good thing because I felt beat up everytime I went outside. The aftermath was a lot of damage to trees and buildings and some high drama for the horses. During the night, the high winds picked up and moved anything that could be moved and placed those things right where they could eat unsuspecting mustangs...

If you look between the two trees on the right, you can see a black plastic trash bag that was just waiting to devour an unsuspecting Valeroso.

And what could Griton be looking at so intently?

Oh no! It's a giant mustang eating piece of cardboard! This cardboard had already turned back other mustangs, but could it stop the Fearless Griton?

Not even a little bit!

And oh my...have you ever seen a more disgusted look on the face of a cat? Smelly Ellie feet!

Oh, no, not the dreaded cardboard box! That's too funny. And I love the disgusted-cat photo.

Looks like Ellie is purposely making the cat smell her feet!

Thanks for making me drool with that pizza. Now I'll be thinking about pizza for days.

Oh, my! So many magically appearing flying things, no wonder the horses are jittery-it could be the witches come to get them. They're smart to stay away.
