The new carpet arrived!

One out of one black dogs surveyed liked the new carpet.

Now don't think that in the next few days I'm going to suddenly show photos of the whole place newly carpeted...things don't work that way around here! Especially with the bathroom finally in process. One of the reasons we wanted carpet tiles is that we can put it down a section at a time without disrupting the entire house.

Water pipes being added in the framing for the shower and sink.

When we discovered how easy it was to begin the framing process for the bathroom, we decided to frame in and insulate the entire interior of the yurt. I love the look of the lattice work against the white fabric walls, but heating with a woodstove has taken a toll on the 'whiteness' of things. I have to vacuum inside each square and it just doesn't get clean anymore. The other advantages to doing this are we can insulate the entire yurt and frame in solid windows. The plan is to put up bead board which we will oil to bring out the wood grain and then seal. Gosh. In another year we might look like we live in a real house!

This video is for you, Jeanie Wakeman, and all the other Griton fans...be sure to turn up the volume for the full effect.

Carmon, I love the videos. It's so nice to hear your voice...do I detect a Southern accent??

How do you get the title card up there? What software are you using??

What a wonderful addition to your blog.

Hi Holly! I'm actually a military kid and I tend to pick up the accent of where I live... protective coloration! Living here, I tend to have a Spanish cadence when I talk to local folks. But all that said, I spent my college years in Texas and was very involved in theater and the arts. So anytime I'm doing something like this, the old Texas accent tends to creep back in.

My new computer came with Windows Movie Maker and I'm discovering it's actually a nice little editing program and super easy to use. Soon you may see fades and special effects!

I wondered if the camera would spook Griton, but I guess he's used to it by now!

Janet, these guys are so used to me following them around with a camera it doesn't upset them. Plus, one of the first things we teach the wild ones is that if we are touching something, it's safe. That's how I showed them that all the heavy equipment working on the road and arena last year was safe for them.

4th Sister...I've been on muscle relaxers for a week now, you can't be any dumber than I am on those drugs! Seriously, it was pretty easy once I figured it out.

Love the video! I have Windows Movie Maker, too, but haven't "tamed" it yet. The biggest problem I have with videos is that the file size exceeds the limits, and I don't know how to reduce it except to chop up the video into five-second pieces. I'll figure it out one day, but if any of you have already solved this problem, please let me know how.

Velvet, is it your internet provider that limits the size of your video clips? If so, what is the maximum size?
