Those pesky turkeys again...

Yesterday evening they were crossing above the yurt near the waterfall and Mike called me out to see them. It's always late in the day when they pass through so the light is less than ideal. I left the dogs waiting for their dinner and managed to get these shots -

This little video is for all the stressed out city folks who come here to relax...be sure to turn up the volume!

Heard it loud and clear...My Daddy always raised wild turkeys in this later years....now Brother lives on the farm and raises and protects them....Last year someone tried to shoot one right by brothers yard....brother was not home but brother in law was....he ran him off then told his parents on him...the kid did not come back..

Hadn't thought of that, Alison!

4th sister...glad you could hear it. The water only runs in the spring when the snow is melting, and in the summer during the monsoon rains. That makes us cherish it even more. These turkeys only moved in this last year and it's been really fun to watch them. No hunting up here other than the coyotes getting them, so hopefully they'll stay a long time.

I love sounds of the waterfall. Is it close enough that you can hear it from the yurt?

Hi Velvet - yes, the waterfall is just above us and the stream it makes runs along beside the yurt. It is seasonal though, first with snow melt and then during the rainy season in the summer. If we have a good strong monsoon season, then we get to go to sleep to its music for several months of the summer.

I guess the dogs were too busy waiting for supper to come out and chase the turkeys?

The sight of trickling water made me want to pee. You must be used to it, or you'd spend most of your time in the bathroom, huh?
